January 15 - August 05, 2018 - I’ve found it helpful to study whole books of the Bible in order to position myself to understand the flow of God’s thoughts. It’s exciting for us to embark on this journey together. The Gospel of Mark was written for the Roman Empire to explain the identity of Jesus of Nazareth. John Mark who is a “son” in the faith to Peter (1 Peter 5:13) writes on Peter’s behalf using a literary voice that is simple and urgent. He does so in order for Rome to get a clear message. Mark has no time for theological agendas or personal opinion. With precision he documents for Rome the life of Christ.
