Volunteer Spotlight | Ashley Kissinger

I’ve been involved with Children’s Ministry at CFC for 6 years as a Sunday school teacher. I became involved in Children’s Ministry a few months after I began attending CFC, because I wanted a way to serve and get to know more people. I love kids and enjoy teaching, so Children’s Ministry is the perfect place for me! Serving in Children’s Ministry has blessed me in so many different ways. I really love the relationships I develop with the kids, and their parents, as well. I get to watch my students as they grow up and hear how their prayers evolve as a first grader to a fourth grader. I love seeing Jesus through their eyes and see how they love on their friends and family. I have so many favorite memories, but a funny one that stands out was when we were praying for a student’s pet. Her sister’s bird had hurt its beak, so we prayed for the bird. Another student wasn’t listening and said, “wait, your sister has a beak?!” There’s always so much joy serving with children and hearing the funny things they say. I really feel blessed to be a part of this ministry, and it has truly made CFC home for me.
