Our Volunteer Spotlight is on Carol Esch!

For the month of May, we are shining a spotlight on Carol Esch who does a beautiful job leading and serving in our Frontline and Women’s Ministries. Carol is one of our frontline assistants who oversees all or our frontline volunteers including greeters, ushers, welcome desk, and cafe attendants on given weekends. In Women’s Ministry, Carol leads our Small Group Shepherds for Bible studies, by training and equipping leaders to facilitate discussion and to care for each woman in her group. Carol and her family live in Manheim Township and have been attending CFC since fall 2019.

We are so thankful for Carol’s excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as her dedication to serving God and His people. Read on to learn more about what Carol finds fulfilling and challenging about volunteering at CFC.

Best part of volunteering: Having the chance to get to know and work with such a diverse group of people who want to make a difference for the Kingdom

Hardest part of volunteering: The on-going discipline to prioritize important activities (like volunteering) over the many other activities that vie for the schedule

Why do you serve/think it’s important to serve in the church?: Since we believers are the hands and feet of Jesus on earth, if we’re not serving, then how will He be seen? When we extend ourselves to serve in even the smallest ways, we’re not only showing others the heart of Jesus, but we’re becoming more like Him at the same time. And serving in the church allows us to direct our service to those who may just be curious about Jesus or wonder what the difference is between church and a social club. I think that when we selflessly serve these individuals they sense the Spirit among us and are more open to considering a relationship with the Lord.

Favorite Verse or Worship Song (optional): Jeremiah 29:11—For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Something people at CFC may not know about you: I am a life-long Star Trek fan and love science fiction in general.

Congratulations Carol! As they say in Star Trek - “Where the heart loves, there the legs walk…” That is certainly true in your case. We are delighted to serve alongside you!

Carol will receive a $15 gift card to Chick-Fil-A as a small thank you for shining the light of Jesus at CFC!
