Hutton’s in Arab Lands

-We feel, at this time, God has given our family 3 specific relationships (a family and two young single women) to develop. We believe that God is doing something in all their lives. Please, join us in praying that we would be a faithful witness and that they would come to put their faith in the truth of Jesus.

- Abigail residency

Abby has needed to reapply for her residency. Our residency permits are good for one year at a time. Miriam & Dan have already finished renewing their permits, but Abigail’s is still in the works. Pray that God would bring her paperwork through smoothly and quickly, that we would know our time here is not in jeopardy.

- National Tension

As US/Syrian tensions rise, the atmosphere in the Arab Lands toward Americans tends to shift. With protests planned and communities displeased, please continue to pray for our family and our work here.

Krista in Central Asia

Ways to Praise:

- For a while, trying to form complex sentence structures in my new language (like past perfect tense) and knowing when to insert word endings that don`t have a direct English translation have been a struggle. But it`s all starting to make sense!!!

- PRAISE for an opportunity this week to share the full gospel with a young man in his heart language. I am awed with the realization that God has entrusted me with the power and responsibility of communication. This realization has been really motivating!

-The privilege of sharing an approach I used in my former job with autism for transferring skills and shaping desired behaviors (ABA).

Ways to Ask:

- Ask for daily protection from the evil one. May my time with the Father be guarded with all diligence; may every word and interaction be of the Spirit; may the Father spur His Body toward love, unity and good deeds; and may He continue to grant favor among authorities while living in a location that is not receptive of the truth we bring. He is worthy!

- Ask earnestly for the Father to send workers into His harvest field. (Matt 9:38).

- Ask for continued direction in making summer and fall plans.

Compassion International

-On the evening of May 9, Kenya’s Patel Dam burst, causing flash flooding in the town of Solai and surrounding areas. Early reports indicate that multiple people have lost their lives and more are missing after the rush of water swept away hundreds of homes. The dam gave way after receiving weeks of heavy rains.

A Compassion center located in the affected area has suffered significant damage. Our staff in Kenya are on the ground assisting children, families and our church partner to provide immediate aid and support relief efforts. At this time, we do not have exact details about the number of Compassion children affected.

In the immediate aftermath of this sudden and devastating disaster, we ask you to pray with us for children and their families affected by flooding. Please join us in praying for:

-Every missing person to be found alive and unharmed.

- Comfort for those who have lost loved ones.

- Those whose homes have been destroyed. Pray God’s blessing on them and Compassion staff members as they begin to rebuild.

Life Cycles

-Gratitude to God for his continued guidance, provision, and protection.
-Request God’s protection from spiritual attack against unity.
-Request God’s guidance as our board explores God-honoring ways to reach more boys in more locations.
-Request that God will continue to change boys’ and leaders’ lives in His timing.

IJM

Africa

-Pray for the IJM Kenya team. A few weeks ago, you prayed as the trial for the murder of IJM staff and a client was set to recommence. Unfortunately, one of the lawyers for the accused was sick, and the trial had to be rescheduled. The next available dates the judge had available are in October. Pray for the lawyers on this case and for the families of the victims as they have to wait through this long delay. Pray for health for all participants in the trial so that when it resumes in October, it would move forward smoothly.

Latin America

-Please pray for God’s favor and grace over our team in Guatemala. As they continue working to protect children from sexual violence our team has encountered great opposition from other organizations while pursuing a new piece of legislation. Pray for clear guidance in finding a path forward for this new legislation.

South Asia

-Ask for God’s favor in our relationships with one state’s leaders as we try to combat sex trafficking together. We are hoping to see a significant change in the justice system over the next few years, but our team really needs breakthroughs with leaders in power who will stand up for victims. Please pray we can make the right connections that will help us reform the way local officials rescue victims, defend them in court and help them heal long-term. Pray we’d see progress quickly so that thousands more girls are never sold for sex in this state.

Southeast Asia

-Please pray for continued recruiting efforts in our newest office in Bangkok, Thailand. We are building a strong team that is passionate about protecting victims of trafficking, but we are still looking for local professionals to fill several key positions on the team. Please join us in praying that God would bring His people to this work.

IJM HQ & Global Partners

-Please pray for the IJM campus chapter student leaders who are ending their academic year or graduating. Pray that God would grant these students wisdom, energy and creativity as they continue to seek justice through their lives and callings, and that they would boldly mobilize their generation to take action against slavery in tangible ways.

Intervarsity

-Pray for the graduating senior leaders and their future plans (Abby, Ehenneden, Leana, Elisabeth, Julie, Thanh)

-Pray for the 6 students that we have asked to join leadership team next school year. (Leilani, Mario, Brianna, Abbi, Hilina and Will)

-Pray for the 23 students who are going to camp May 6-12. We will be studying the gospel of Mark and the book of Genesis.

-Pray for me as I will be teaching 3 of the Mark study sessions and speaking at the 3 large group gatherings at Camp.

Please continue to pray for my support raising meetings as I ask God to bring my support to 100% for this fiscal year. If you know of someone I should meet with, please pass along a recommendation or introduce us through email.

Family prayer needs:

-Pray for spiritual and physical protection leading up to camp and during camp. We find that their are higher occurrences of spiritual conflict when we are preparing for or during a concentrated time of ministry. Specifically lift up Mandy as she will be parenting alone for that week of camp.

-Isabelle continues to have seizures most days and sometimes multiple. She has begun to have more severe grand mal seizures over the past few months. Pray for peace and endurance as we care for her and continue to seek wisdom from her doctors at CHOP.
