1 Corinthians 1: 1-9
Welcome to Corinth! This was a bad town. (we will get into it).
The new believers in this city were deeply affected by their culture. Similarly, today, we can live in our culture and be seduced by it (we ‘use’ the city for money, sex and
control), or we can let our lives be so deeply affected by the riches of Christ, that it
contributes to transforming the city. This concept coincides with the word to exiles in Babylon:“…seek the welfare of the city and pray to the Lord on its behalf.” (Jer. 29:7).
