Biblical Literacy
The Bible’s impact on American culture is unmistakable; it has shaped our laws and social systems. Yet the last quarter-century has revealed that we are increasingly living in a post-biblically literate culture. There is a massive assault on the Scriptures; many Christians don’t read their Bibles anymore, and for that matter 23% of Americans didn’t even read a book last year (Pew Research).
Is that a problem? How central are words to knowing God?
