Grow Roots
Five Essential Skills to Grow Your Faith

Many of us have asked the question, "Where is God in my life?" We asked this because we feel frustrated by our lack of seeing God work in our lives. But how do we respond when we feel this way? For most of us we try and fix everything ourselves or turn to others things and people to remedy the problem. Instead what would our lives look like if we lived like God was all we needed?

As we close out the school year, we will be looking at five core "skills" that every Christian should desire to master, so that they can grow closer and abide with God. Each week we will be breaking down what these skills are and putting practical tools in your hands so that you will be able to practice these on your own.

Join us as we go on this journey to grow roots!

Key Verse:
Blessed are those who trust in the LORD
and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit."
- Jeremiah 17:7-8

April 29-30 - "Navigate the Bible"
The Bible is God's Holy Word, therefore it should become a priority in the life of every Christian. That's why we learn the importance of Scripture being a part of our daily lives and how to read through it in a meaningful way. We will also look at how to find things in the Bible, when we have questions.

May 6-7 - "Personalize Scripture"
The Bible is called the Sword of the Spirit, and it is one of the tools that God has given us in our walk with Him. We will learn the importance of memorizing key scriptures and personalizing them to our lives.

May 13-14 - "Dialogue with God"
Talking and being with God is an essential part of the Christian walk. That is why Christians are called to pray. Prayer is simply talking and being with God. We will learn why prayer is so important and also how to pray both publicly and privately.

June 3-4 - "Articulate Your Faith"
It is really important to understand why you believe what you believe. We will be learning why we should be able to share and defend our faith with others, and how do to that.

June 10-11 - "Worship with Your Life"
Worship is the act of loving and giving back to God. We will take a look at what worship look like and how we can demonstrate our love to God by being involved in the lives of others.
