FOLLOWING JESUS
Spiritual formation or discipleship is the work of God in the heart of his disciples to move them toward Christlikeness. This movement is a mystery. We don't quite know exactly how it happens, but we know it does happen. Here's what we believe about this process at CFC.

Romans 12:1, 2 speaks of the process as, "...the renewing of your mind". We believe that this involves several principles all wrapped up in the idea of God's eternal greatness and goodness.
  1. Lifelong learning. CFC provides classroom style learning experiences through what we call Community Fellowship Institute (CFI). These experiences are usually limited in duration (four to six weeks usually on Sundays) and cover basic Bible knowledge and teaching. In addition, contemporary topics are sometimes used as themes.
  2. Mission. Learning and doing go together. Jesus said in Matthew 28, "As you are going, make disciples..." We believe that the process whereby we go into our local and global communities to serve is vital to our spiritual formation.
  3. Spiritual Disciplines. The disciplines of prayer, fasting, study, confession, solitude, etc. are helpful to spiritual formation. We encourage everyone to make the disciplines they need become a part of their normal life.
  4. The Safest Place on Earth. We believe community groups are the safest place on earth for people to experience spiritual formation. Life change happens best in the context of community. There is acceptance, encouragement, study, worship, prayer and even mission---everything the church has to offer in the context of unconditional love.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of CFI, mission opportunities, the disciplines and community groups to become more like Jesus as we journey together to serve Him. Please contact us for further discussion and information.

COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP INSTITUTE (CFI)
Community Fellowship Institute (CFI) is designed to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus. We believe that people grow, spiritually, by studying God’s Word, through prayer, through classes offered from a biblical perspective and through service.

CFI offers classes which study Bible Books and topics of interest to those wishing to grow in their relationship with God. The classes offered vary in time and format, but usually run three to four weeks in length and are offered during the 9 AM Worship hour.
